I think the problem with this movie is that it can't decide whether it's a haunted house movie or a demonic possession movie. They could have gotten the mix right but the movie starts off wrong. There is not nearly enough suspense built and opening with the the guy being killed by his reflection kills it. You always know what's going to happen from one scene to the next and even though they do a pretty good job on delivering it it just doesn't have full effect when you don't allow any space for the viewer's sense of terror to build. The first act was weak, the second act was better and the last act was what made the movie worth seeing.

Although this movie was violent, the story line didn't do it for me. better than most horror movies as of late though! & the kid was creepy enough, no need for mirrors with him on the screen!!

Very mediocre film, not good, not bad, very middle of the road.

Im betting 5 bucks that the south Korean version is better(i may be wrong) its just seeing the japanese Grudge and Ring just makes the English one laughable. Seriously just the menu screen of the Grudge made me s**t my pants

Just saw the film myself...personally I think this review is more entertaining then the whole movie and rental is just a bit too generous. It's more funny then freaky and I have to say I kept waiting for the 24 music to start every so often...jack has a new mission to destroy all the mirrors in the world...now that I would watch!

At least the review was good. But I don't like the solos and duos as much as trios and more. And I miss Carlyle. Just saw the movie and I was pretty impatient with all the screaming and burning and other nonsense going on in the mirrors. Hated the choppy inserts or freaky screaming things. I agree with Korey on the ending. Its a real good ending and yet like the rest of the film is just a little too long. I am getting frustrated watching Paula Patton's career. She always does a fine job but no one ever talks about her. And in this movie she isn't given anything to do a girlfriend or wife hasn't done in any other film. And the kids are zeroes to bounce off of. Pity because given something I think people would look forward to seeing her. She's smart and fun and funny and has personality, that sexy smoker's voice and an upper chassis that would make any boy drool. Same thing happened with Swing Vote. Zero mention of her. And very few little comments about her beyond the mention of her name in Deja Vu where she has a much larger role. Sometimes I think she's so nice in real life she needs to get cast as someone with a nastier edge. I think as long as she is cast as the girlfriend she'll be doomed to movie oblivion.

Ehhh, I'll catch it for free when I have the chance lol - no offense to Aja, his movie's are a bit crap, but he does bring some good gore; thanks for the amy smart pic jeez that looked violent, I'd say catch it on a local tv channel in a few years otherwise low rental

ive seen the old korean one, it wasnt bad the only difference is that there was a shopping centre that has been rebuilt after a fire was there, and the security guard finds out about this whole spirit mirror world/dimension. it looked like it had more characters in it than this movie

What's with all these movies about mundane things being haunted? Video games, cell phones, eye's...What's next plumbing? I can see the tagline now... Porecalin throne...Because sooner or later...Your going to have to go...
