This movie doesn't seem too bad yet I only think you could appreciate some of those action scenes on the big screen. Not really interested in those "end of the world" flicks but again some of the effects seem cool. I give the Spill review a FULL PRICE though LOL! I love the commentary about the actors running away from shit LOL!

Rule of thumb. If ya going to make a movie about a specific day the world wil endl, chances are its not going to happen.

I agree with Rachel. That girl is soo creepy, It looks like he has gollum on his back, before gollum lost his hair.

I agree with JD Moreno, everything was so coincidental in this movie. From JFK crashing the White House, to Air Force one crashing into Ark 4, to tons of other things. It was worth seeing in the theater, though, for the sheer volume of destruction on the screen. A matinee is a good choice, not a rental. Good review.

I actually really like this movie. I thought the CGI and special effects were great.

I saw the movie yesterday during the matinee, and I have to say that I enjoyed it. I even would have paid full price for it. Hey, I'm a fan of Independence Day, and this movie reminded me much of ID4. It was a great thrill ride, and visually stunning. Yes, there were dumb parts, but for the most of the movie, it was exhilarating.

Does anyone else think the little girl on this screenshot above just looks ... creepy?

I went to see this (yeah, at a matinee screening), and it really just a visual roller coaster (which is ironic - I can't stand roller coasters). Not much else to it. Just silly fun. Maybe he should be the director for Transformers 3 instead of brain-dead Bay. (Oh, who am I kidding? Transformers is unsalvagable now, as a Hollywood production)

I pity anyone who takes this "prophecy" seriously. Yeah, just like how the world was going to end in 2000. And when it doesn't end in 12, it'll end sometime after that. People are pathetic.

sadly, if the movie was based on the truth... it wouldn't make 65 million in the box office. i guess doom and gloom is just better for the economy.

i would like to start off by saying 2012= prequel to water world. "theres such thing as dry land ive seen it!' next i would like to agree low mattine for me since the repetitivness of oh danger! they escape they sigh with relief get gas and the whole thing starts over again

Yeah totally agree, I saw this opening night and it's definitely a Matinee, the acting and script was nothing to brag about for sure, the usual Emmerich-stuff was there with all the generic characters (everyman dealing with a failed relationship, the scientist no one listens to till it's too late, snobbish bureaucrat willing to be ignorant and heartless, and a bunch of stereotypes thrown in for good measure), but it was a great visual spectacle and it MUST be seen on the big screen to be fully appreciated.

The Spill Crew has done it again. I laughed so hard at this review. I do agree, the special effects in this movie were awesome........but that story was horrible man, HORRIBLE! As soon as the destruction was over and they would talk or try to explain things to make the story, it was just drag on and on and on. Then movie became boring (to me) I just wanted to leave. Most of the story was to predictable also. I feel asleep twice until I heard the destruction to wake me up. It had it some funny moments but this is a borderline rental and some ole bullsh*t. *spoiler alert* And did anybody else feel a little upset when they spent like 3 seconds (if that) grieving Gorden's (i think that was his name) death. It's not like he flew a plane and saved their lives and he was going to be the future father/husband of the main family in the movie or anything *rolls eyes*.

I forgotten how long the movie was and I almost pissed my pants from the run time. I will admit that it was an ok movie and it's just something to watch and not really get into. If you want to watch a movie and waste time then I suggest to see this movie.

Spill Crew you guys gave this a matinee ...that is extremely generous ...this movie was so bad ..thank god I saw this in the philippines where I got four tickets plus candy and treats for 15 dollars enough for my family ..and I still think that is way to much to pay....the fucking dialogue in this movie made me want to tear my face off...and the acting..for fucks sake was pure dookie on a stick...so predictable almost every second of it ...cliche after cliche after cliche.......the effects were great but didnt do anything to save the movie from drowning...it was so repetative I kept wishing the characters would just get blown up so I could leave...fuck this gotdamned movie to endless hell ...gotdamned it!!!!

I think this movie is the real 2012 disaster that the Mayans predicted. It's so awful and repetitive it feels like I was watching the same movie over and over again throughout the 4 hour period. I hope it's also a disaster in the box office. This same ole bullshit made me happy piracy exist. This movie is not worth the same amount of money i paid to see Hurt Locker for.
