Oh my God!! I'm one of those people who read the book! Oh fuck!! Could I go lower than THATS SOME OLD BULLSHIT? FUCK YOU is my rating. The book was near-perfect, the movie? I loved the score of this movie and the cast were good picks, but you might as well take out the rest of the trash!

A guy wearing jeans wasn't the only technical fault in this movie, that was just the tip of iceberg: When we first see Eragon's red sword, Zar'roc, it's quite obviously painted red, there's no subtlety in it whatsoever. During the final battle, when the soldiers weapons clashed, I could have sworn I heard plastic clash against plastic, instead of steel against steel. Saphira the dragon isn't meant to have feathers on its wings. During Brom's funeral, when she arched her back and spread her wings, she looked like a fucking swan, and I just thought to myself "WTF?" Aria's hair is supposed to be dark, and her ears are supposed to be pointed, so we can tell that she's an elf. The Urgals look nothing like they were described in the book, they just look like bikers in make-up. Where are the tusks? The yellow eyes? The grey skin? Aren't they supposed to be taller than regular humans? In the Varden fortress there is no physical distinction between the dwarves and the humans, the Dwarves are the same size and muscle proportion as humans. Also, I love the fact that this is set in medieval times, most of the characters are peasants or mercenaries, and yet everyone, even Eragon, has perfect teeth, a spotless face and manicured hands. The whole movie just feels like all of the budget went into the design of the dragon, Jeremy Irons, and John Malkovich. This probably seems like nit-picking, but I just wish that, if the film industry makes an adaptation of anything, let alone an adaption of what I thought was a decent book, that they would respect the source material, because that's the one thing it doesn't seem to be doing right now, casing point: Dragonball Evolution.

This movie REALLY dissapointed me, I was having a fit when they said they were making an eragon movie, I was a big fan of the book, I even got my family pumped, waited for it, went with tons of people I know, and was completely embarrassed I actually reccomended it, It was terrible, hollow, shallow, there was no depth to it whatsoever, it was just another flashing boring movie, sure ooo, special effects and whatnot, but even that didn't have much luster to me, mostly because my hopes for it were dashed by the time anything that might have been cool was going on, this movie DEFINATELY needs a reboot, since everyone is so keen on re-doing things, I don't care if you have to make it 3 hours long, flesh it out, bring in some big names, do whatever you need too, but this really just came off to me as a lazy attempt at ripping off LOTR without costing as much money, the bar was obviously never high, and it didn't do the book close to justic

I never read the whole book, just skimmed, and I could even notice this had nothing on it! I will admit I enjoyed the cast, effects, location, set design, costumes (except for the guy in jeans who I have to see sometime), and the music. It's just the story itself is only like 20% accurate and the dialouge SUCKS. I didn't hate it, but nerds did.

Actually nerds hated it! I only skimmed through the book to get to the battles and all that stuff, but even I got the idea that this was nothing compared to it! I did enjoy the cast, effects, location choice, costumes (besides the jeans guy), and the music, but the story itself along with the dialouge just sucked! I didn't hate it, but it wasn't as good as the parts of the book that I read. The battle was waaaaaaaaaay to short and the killed off those Ra'zac dudes! Still since this wasn't well received by critics I'm not sure they'd make a sequel.

Actually nerds HATED this movie! I only skimmed to the battles n stuff, and I could see reading the book that that was more like a movie script than whatever this was. I enjoyed the cast, effects, location, costumes, and music, but the story itself was from what I read ruined. It's a Matinee for people who havn't read the book, but absolutely nothing to fans. I thought it was okay at some points, but I wanted a bigger battle and I got ticked that they killed the Razac dudes off. But since critics mostly hated the movie I'm not sure if they'd make a sequel.

A family of nerds DEFINITELY won't like this solely because they will have probably read the book. This is soooo loosely based on the book. I hadn't even read it yet and I was pissed...

This film is an insult to the books. They have made it into LOTR lite! Also, they completly changed the end of the film, so if they attempt Eldest, it won't make any sense. And I now sound like an over-protective fan, which I'm not,

I didn't particularly like this because I read the books. What really pissed me off was some little things...Arya not having pointed ears like a damn elf should, and Saphira's wings being feathered! Wtf was up with that??? She has DRAGON wings goddammit! (Bat like) Just no...I would've liked it if the book never existed. Kudos to hot guys though (Ed Speelers and Garret Hedlund)

Terrible terrible movie. You've got piss poor action sequences, suicidal boy that only survives simply because hes extremely lucky, a stuck up dragon that needs to get laid and STFU, an overconfident king that talks tough but does nothing, an overconfident wizard that gets pwned by the stupid kid with no fighting experience, I could go on(You get the point?). The movie starts terribly, plays terribly, ends terribly. I don't see how this could even qualify as a "family" or "kid" movie, for gods sake, buy your kids Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter instead. Although I don't like them either, they a least have interesting stories and sequences, unlike this degraded rip off of LoTr. This movie is so bad it makes those look good, seriously. Take it that way. Save yourself 2hours and DONT WATCH THIS MOVIE.
