It's a rental, bordering on SOME OLE BULLSHIT. The film doesn't know whether to be a polemic or a traditional action movie. I have no problems with politics in action movies, but if you want to put them in properly, you have to be subtle. This film is not subtle, but this problem is far bigger, because it's overall essence is that of a chase film, which leads to the preachiness of the message taking me out of the action and just leaving me with a weird look on my face. The characterizations are also very one dimensional, particularly that of the characters played by Greg Kinnear and Amy Ryan, which were far too clearly paralleling real people, with changed names. Don't make it so damn obvious. Damon and Gleeson are good, and the film's action scenes are well done, which boost it up a bit. I'm liberal and against the so called War on Terror, but this film is simply uneven. If you want to be a polemic, be a polemic. If you want to be an action movie, be an action movie. You can't be both at once. The validity of the film's message does not exclude it from criticism.

i finally got around to watching this. i liked the movie, i got the message. there is an underlying truth in the movie's plot. we did NOT go into iraq for WMD. this movie basically says our government is fucking bs, and it is. if you watched this movie it's really action packed and the point of the movie gets lost. but if you understand what's going on, the movie is good. fucking ignorant people, that don't understand the movie should learn some shit. and then watch "the kingdom" watch the very first five minutes of "the kingdom" and that's why we invaded iraq. OIL. $$$$$$$

@Taoist, ok dude let me get one thing straight here: its MY OPINION. Do not call me a dumbass just because i give out my opinion. If you thought the movie was great, great. I know people liked it, and you are one of them. But there are other people who didnt like it and I am one of those people. Now to the main topic. The main reason why I did not like this movie is because it was to damn complicated. You can not tell me with a straight face that that movie was not complicating. And if you think that I am retarded, go ahead think that. I don't care. This is one of the most complicating movies I have ever watched. And not understanding what the whole fucking movie was about pretty much sumed up everything you just put down. But what I did understand: NO CHARACTER BUILD! Wow we see Matt Damon as a marine. whopee. Does he have a family? Son? Daughter? Once again, no character build. Wana know why i did all caps for the first two sentences? 50% i was pissed off 50% i wanted to get peoples attention. Apperently I got your attention.

Surprisingly good, it's basically a tom clancy novel on celluloid, maybe cliche to some, but if you haven't seen one too many "one man against the system" political conspiracy films, and like your politics with a mix of bond-esque butt kicking, you'll enjoy this film. @Jacob Hicks, you're a dumbass, with a capital D; if you had no idea what the hell was happening during the movie that's your not the movie's problem. Therefore you were bored, which once again, was your own damn problem for wanting the movie to spoonfeed you the plot from a silver platter. They made a movie of what you already knew? Just try citing that excuse for not liking all of the WWII movies...oh wait, what?...you actually like some of the WWII movies?...but I thought you knew what happened! And no suspense and poor storytelling 'cause once again you were sleeping from the minute you sat your fat ass in the seat. Hey you know what, I think I remember a critic citing the excuse that he didn't understand the movie for giving the Dark Knight a one star review.

THIS MOVIE SUCKED! SOME OLE BULL****! Why? The movie had no character build to it whatsoever. You had no idea what the f*** was going on for 90% of the movie. They make a movie of what i already know. Poor storytelling and no suspense It was very boring (almost slept during the movie P.S.: Who the hell was the bad guy?

Bourne is on a totally different league to this. Nothing happens, and why didnt someone tell Matt Damon that we all know there's no weapons, so its pretty pointless basing an entire film on something we know doesn't exist, and an ending we are aware of. Its poor story telling, there's no suspense, much like the titanic, its gonna sink, so wheres the fun in that?

Sorry but I really hated this film. Everyone said it would be like the Bourne films. Not at all. It just seemed to be another anti-Bush movie.

I was not impressed with this movie. Its not full of action. However the characters were truly developed and the message was a good one regardless of political views. I want another BOURNE FILM!!!
