Robert Downey was great. But I thought the Warmachine guy was a bit underdeveloped. He easily sneaked into the laboratory and puts on the Warmachine suit, and he knows how to use the suit right from the start. That's not very convincing. Also, the end game fight was also a bit too short, suffers the same problem from the first film.

This movie is awsome (even though the first one was better). The villain here was great too.

Iron Man (2008) - A. An Outstanding surprise of an action-packed superhero movie. Iron Man 2 (2010) - A+. An Award-worthy, fun and terrific action-packed superhero movie sequel.

This movie is the definition of matinee. The fight scenes were amazing and there were a lot of them, but there were very few good scenes with Tony Stark. Also, this movie does go really slow in the middle until the final fight scene and it didn't save this movie at all. I also wanted to know why they have Don Cheadle instead of the other guy? Don Cheadle is good, but I hate when movies make a cast change.

FINALLY saw this and thought it was a great movie. Sure, not as fun as the first and a somewhat disappointing villain at the end (Whiplash was pretty lame in my opinion anyway in the comics). Still, decent acting with the main characters and a story that was still interesting. Low Full Price for me.

this movie got wayy too hyped up and it was just a dissapointment. Not even close to being as good as the 1st movie and the end just completely ruined it. Matinee for sure.

Finally watched this yesterday, and sadly I think you guys were spot on. It's not a bad movie, but it's no where near the standard of the first (which I loved). There's a great action sequence at the end, and Robert Downey was great as usual, but much of the movie just dragged. Nothing really interesting happened, and the dialogue was uninspired.

Really? A Matinee? They gave Spider-Man 3 a full price and this sequel was WAY better than that. It may not have been as good as the original (due to the lack of a strong villain in my opinion) but it was still a blast to watch. I'd give this movie a LOW FULL PRICE.

Iron Man 1 was better than Iron Man 2. It was more fun, had better character development, and didn't have as much going on. Spill nailed it by saying that Iron Man 2 suffered from "sequelitis." It wasn't bad; it just wasn't amazing. However, it's still a low Full Price for me because I felt the action sequences in Iron Man 2 were much better than those in Iron Man 1. It's just that there were too many characters in the sequel. It was hard to follow at times. I also wanted to see more of Whiplash and less of the arms dealer guy. His character was so annoying, and Whiplash was much more valuable to the movie.

Iron Man 2 is Full Price all the way. There were plenty of character development, especially with Tony. I didn't mind the fact that there weren't a lot of Iron Man action sequences, but when it was on, I was geeking the fuck out. For me, it was the perfect sequel to the first one, and it's better because of the various characters. I do say, however, I wanted more Whiplash scenes.

Matinee, not as good as the first, not enough time with Stark as Iron Man to be doing his thing. The constant arguments with he and Pepper got annoying, so did Justin Hammer. Only the fight with Whiplash and the final fight at the end were really exciting, and I liked the scene where Rhodey and Stark fought and didn't think it was a bad scene at all.

I pretty much agree with everything you guys said. It was a great movie, but it was too jokey at times and there were so many characters that we didn't even see character development. But other than that, I loved it. Great action, good acting, IM2 can't touch the first one, but its still a full price.

I thought Howard was fine as Roady but I was curious and researched why they switched him out and the word is (not necessarily the truth because this is the internet after all -- which is an extension of real life where you can't always know the truth either) is that he was very difficult to work with on the set and that, because he was first cast, he wound up making more money on this flick than any other actor, including Downey or Paltrow. When they tried to redress that in the sequel he got stubborn. If that is true I coudn't really fault them for dropping him. Ultimately an actor is a contractor, if I demand too much for my services, regardless of whether I was involved in previous work for the client, the client will hire someone else -- regardless of how easy or hard I was to work with, although that can also affect the equation. Spoiler Alert: And again, as far as Roady having command access to the suit storage I suspect the house is keyed to recognize him (unlike the gal from Vanity Fair in the first movie). As far as being able to work them, I have friends that come over and play console games with me that do not own a console, they quickly become very good and sometimes beat me at them. Likewise, Tony was dead drunk when Roady beat him. Finally, even dead drunk Tony wasn't willing to win at any cost against Roady --- seriously, by movie end we know he could have just melted him in half for the win.

OK. I have to speak up about all of the complaints about the story where Roady is concerned. In the first movie, there's a scene where Stark had left his home as Iron Man and Roady was left there standing in the Iron man sanctuary, looking at the Iron Man prototype saying "Next time!". How did he get there? Oh! That's right! Stark! All throughout the 1st film Tony Stark had tried to get Roady to help him with the project and (due to the fact Roady thought Stark was going nuts) Roady said no. Like Wodman Windrunner mentioned, Roady is the closest thing to male best friend Stark has at this point and is a qualified test pilot to boot. Did anyone think that maybe, just maybe, Stark left the offer for Roady open ended with his tech as well? I'm just saying!

While I agree with most of the stuff in the review, I'm caught between low full price and high matinee. I have to say that I liked the first Iron Man more though :|

I find Iron Man 2 a typical Hollywood action movie that makes the characters look cool and funny and omit a good story. I give it a matinee.

It wasn't as good as the first, but I still had fun and I definitely didn't regret going. I thought all the performances were really good and the action was just as entertaining as the drama. Low full price for me. Oh, and I don't think I've ever read a comic where the main heroes/villains didn't spout one-liners during action sequences (even potentially dangerous/epic ones.) That's kinda the norm for comic books/movies.

I really enjoyed this review but....I disagree with the rating. I give it a Full Price! It was awesome! I agree with the things said in the review, but I still found myself loving this movie. And I could not for the love of me understand most of the words Mickey Rourke says. Great accent, but for the most part, very hard to understand.
