Better than Sex. This was my favorite movie of 2009. Robert Downey Jr. should of at least been nominated for an Oscar because in my opinion, this was the best performance of the last year. Oh and Guy Ritchie is the most unique director I have seen in a while

I thought this was a fun, neat movie, 'Full Price!' in my opinion. You should definately check this out, and if you dont really get it you have some pretty cool action scenes to watch.

Low Full Price. This movie was great when it came to detective work and fights. The problems with the movie is that the fight replays right after each slow motion scene and the movie does get a little slow and borring at points.

    Sherlock Holmes (2009) - A+ Award-Worthy

I found that all round it was a great action thriller movie although it lost the wit and genious of the books. Once you read one of the cases, your left thinking how you didn't think of that while, after the movies climax you dont have that same feeling.

I love Sherlock Holmes and I've read every one of his cases. Now, Robert Downey and Jude Law were great together. However, I had problems with the story. First of all Holmes does not create such chaos in public. He is very discreet and logical when he does things. I liked it but after watching it; it made me take out my books and reread the stories again. Doyle's version of Holmes is much better probably because Holmes was his creation. The books were better IMO.

I love this movie. Great cast, wonderful action. Robert Downey, Jr. was a fantastic Holmes, and Jude Law had me convinced as Dr. Watson. I was thrilled for this, and after seeing it, just damn. I'd watch a sequel if they make one, just gotta keep the Downey-Law team! Full Price!

So glad I waited on the rental for this one. I just couldn't get into it. I didn't like the pace, the step by step guy ritchie scenes felt weird to me. I only finished this movie because some of the action seemed cool. I notice how they worked to leave it open for the sequel, too. Don't bother. The bromance came out strong and I felt the guys worked well together but I did not care for the movie. thank goodness I got it from a kiosk for $1... It's worth a buck (almost...)

Okay I'm sorry but I don't share the enthusiasm that everyone else shares with this one. In the review the spill crew said "Great pacing!" well when you say great pacing in a movie like this you basically mean FAST! Pacing. Guy Ritchie makes movie's like they have A. D. H. D. Everyone talks, and moves so fast that I couldn't barely understand or care about what happens too anybody. My girlfriend who usually loves Robert DownyJr., and will mostly love him in anything that he does, even if the movie is kinda shitty (Home for the Holidays), actually fell asleep on my shoulder while watching this, she didn't care about anything as well. Now I don't care that it was an action film, that's perfectly fine, but at least make the mystery worth a damn. I don't care if this is the more action driven Sherlock Holmes, I wouldn't care if it was the homosexual Sherlock Holmes, at least make the mystery itself engaging. Here were basically given Angels and Demons shit. Please people can anyone honestly say they were wrapped up in the mystery here, and if you did, explain to me how it was interesting, because all I got was some wise guy dialogue, set pieces that were kinda ridiculous, terrible performance from Rachel McAdams, and then a very cliched 2 minute monologue in the climax explaining everything. How about a mystery that shows it self slowly, maybe even believable, with a memorable villain that you can actually believe can out smart Holmes, because everything in the screenplay seems to be their mostly for convenience. So please before everyone gives this a better than sex!! rating because you thought some of the scenes were "cool". Sit down and actually think, are you really going to remember, or care for this movie five, or ten years from now. I like to think a better than sex rating is reserved for movies with special quality, such as The Dark Knight for example, a movie that even I didn't liked as much as the rest of America, can see why people like, and can enjoy it on it's cinematic value. Sherlock Holmes is a poor man's version of a Dan Brown movie adaptation, and those movies suck too.

This was a better than sex movie.....i was engaged every minute of this movie. If they make a series of this movie I would be so grateful as long as the directors, cast, and writer are the same

I would love to see a series of movies made from this. With the same cast, director, writer.

i've got to say, this movie truly does deserve a "better than sex" rating. my dad, a man who hates (and i mean absolutely HATES) robert downey jr. went and saw this movie with my mom, and came out saying he loved it. just by that statement alone, it deserves a "better than sex" rating :)

It was like watching a person play Fallout 3 specifically through the slow mo action sequences of how he specifically takes down his opponents. Being such a video game like movie, I'm amazed they haven't adapted one. I enjoyed that it didn't treat itself as a mystery movie, but more like an action/ adventure, in which case it wasnt frustrating or boring at any time during the film

The fight ring scene was short, but OMG that was absolutely epic. Step by step, direct, and totally badass. that scene alone moved it from Full Price to Better than Sex

FULL PRICE! It was great to see Dr. Watson not being a fat do nothing buffoon(i.e. Nigel Bruce) as like in the original films with Basil Rathbone great update to the classic story.

I like the relationship between Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson where Holmes didn't want Watson to get married because he didn't want to lose his best friend. The skirmishes that they have with one another and Holmes would lose it when he didn't have a case to solve are good. What was weak is the story of events that lead up to Lord Blackwood's death is silly and predictable. I'd give this a matinee.

Better than sex for me! Absolutely adore all of the Sherlock Holmes novels and the original characters definitely shine through. Robert Downey Jr. continues to bring his A+ game for every project he gets. Can't wait for Iron Man 2 to come out.
