I was slightly disappointed with this movie, I expected it to be something epic, but got much less than my anticipation told me it would be. I think that he was miscast and I found him slightly annoying. The only decency in the film is the transformation from man to werewolf, and the werewolf fight scene between him and his father, which wasnt that impressive to be honest. I agree that some of the death scenes were brutal and I give points for that, but all in all it wasnt really worth the money I paid for it, as we did buy it straight out rather than seeing it in the cinema, so I think my money was wasted, as I wont be watching it again. I think that it would be okay for a night that you fancy a few jumps, but other than that I wouldnt watch it more than once. And the moon transitions were also annoying. I give this a medium rental, purely for the scenes where he was in rehab or.. jail or whatever it was

This movie was 'okay'.. Just 'Okay'.. I mean its a remake of 1941 film. Look of wolf man didn't change and same storyline. Was great to see some gores and Anthony Hopkins :D one of my favourite actor. Anthony had a great role to play in this film and i think he did well. But nothing is pure or awesome in this film. But worth a watch :P

Awesome???? This movie was stupid, rushed and lame as hell! Jumpscare after jumpscare does NOT make a good movie. The thing THEY call script is so wetoddit and full of logic mistakes, that it is the most scary part of the movie. I know they were paying hommage to the original wolfman, but they just looked silly. The only thing that was really creepy was this damn wolfchild thingie. Then what about this stupid crap "Only true love can save it" that amount to NOTHING! The "love story" btw was really, really lame. The only... ONLY saving graces of this movie were the set design and Hugo Weaving. No, not even Anthony Hopkins... who wasn't bad, but simply not good enough for me to like this movie SOME OL RENTAL BULLSHIT!

I saw this movie when I came out on Friday and I give it a high Matinee. The gore in this movie was pretty funny to me. Some parts made me cringe, but I laughed at a lot of them. It was a great movie to just watch, but I wish they would have spent more time on the characters or something. I don't know, it just felt like something was missing from the movie.

There were enough 'jump-scares' in this movie to fill a swimming pool.

I'm surprised at how many people are enjoying this film. The performances were dull, the effects weren't believable, the script was boring, the action scenes were cheesy as hell, and the style just seemed too familiar with me. Sorry, but I'll have to give this film a Some Ol' Bullshit.

This was a pretty good film. Loved the gore and the CGI....Didnt go into the film thinking that it was going to be the greatest of all time and had no high hopes for it. It was a good remake and I'll add it to my horror collection when the dvd release. They dont make true horror films that contain monsters like they use to and it was refreshing to see this type of film release. Good Review Spill....

First , I wanted to like this movie..I want to bring up a few things that really bug me .The first is SOUNDTRACK ABUSE .When every goddamn scene has dramatic orchestration then it lessens the actual mood that might be there. Lets have some natural moments and save the music. You don't want to become hyper aware of it.This movie decided that every moment and place should be cobwebs and mood lighting . There is no elements of contrast. The house even though they have a house keeper and a woman(and husband) is full of spider webs and leaves and looks abandoned. Del Toro was humorless and had no interesting dialog and looked fat and looked like his hair was black shoe polished on. Lon Chaney Jr.s performance is great because he is a light hearted guy and after he is bitten he just wants to to find a way to die. The dialog in the original is great and memorable(remember how great the dialog was in American Werewolf in London was?) .The werewolf doesn't even look like like Del Toro. They could have tried to keep his unique eyes. The creature also has cat claws.. these long scimitar bladed nails...Is it a wolf or Freddie Kruger.I saw a preview of a indie movie called "House of Wolfman" that looked better than this.No idea how they F'd this one up.Must have taken alot of work.

Spoiler: Anthony Hopkin's in werewolf form is so squatty, so short and broad chested, he looks like Glenn Danzig in Ozzy Osbourne's "Bark at the Moon" make-up.

I thought everyone did a good job in this film, del Toro seemed a bit out of place in the movie, but it really didn't bother me very much. In fact if the spill guys hadn't mentioned the miscasting aura he gave out, I would honestly not have even thought about it. Overall it was very entertaining, and worth your movie ticket. I really have no complaints it was a good movie, not amazing, but good.

Yea the movie was Ok. i agree with the matinee rating. Hugo Weaving was awesome. The end was not as good as when the wolfman gets loose in London.
