Not sure why people are hating on the shaky cam. This movie came out two years ago, it most certainly wasn't the first film to use shaky cam but it wasn't all that common. I remember this movie coming out and being a bug success, then a few months later dozens of shitty films with no budget for a Steadicam. Yeah, looking at it now shaky cam is a bit cliche but not so much in '08.

It was well directed and the story was good, but God Damn it, it is no classic that it needs full price. Shacky cam? No. Show the monster and better ending? Never in the movie. Going back to shacky cam, Cinemagraphy should be smoothe, like uh... like... Moulin Rouge. Odd and weird movie but look at the postioning of the camera and all those kick-ass sequences. This movie was... Matine or Rental. Matine to be like a pro critic.

The only thing I can compare this film to is the first time you watch the original Friday the 13th. The entire film, you only catch glimpses of this person whom is going around this campsite killing people, just like in this film with this bigass monster running around destroying everything. When the villains are finally revealed in both movies, you're saying "Holy shit I didn't see that coming!" because your imagination fills in the blanks. Granted, Friday the 13th didn't leave nearly as many questions unanswered as Cloverfield, but still you get my point.

This movie is Some ole Bullshit not Better Than Sex. I hate how they make movies that look like home movies. This movie made no sense. A big ass monster with giant crabs on its back terrorizes Manhattan. The shaky camera was annoying as hell. Definitely NOT better than sex

Many people didn't like this but... I agree, BETTER THAN SEX!! This was like a cross between The Blair Witch Project and Godzilla... only better. J.J. knows how to both scare and entertain; not once was I bored during this movie. I loved the hell out of it, and I can watch this over and over again and still love the hell out of it. Definitely Better than Sex, and I can't wait for the next one.

I give this Full Price since I did enjoy the drama and realism of it but I think they should've had more monster scenes, I mean we never actually saw whole Cloverfield for more than 20 seconds or something, and I'd also wanted a couple more scenes of those Cloverfield-parasites, and it should've been abit longer, anyway, great movie!

Okay. First, just let me say this: Cloverfield was AWESOME. But as a horror movie...it didn't really do it for me. It didn't scare me at all, really. But as an action movie, I loved it. Full price!

This was the Three D's in a monster movie... which, i could be wrong its been a while and fuck i forget which director said it, i think it was one of the guys who did King Kong. I think its Dark Dangerous and Distant. The movie was very dark, That monster was very dangerous when it was near the characters you can feel how intense they are knowing its a couple hundred feet away, and distant. i know people complain not seeing it very well, but come on thats what kept you on the EDGE OF YoUR SEAT! you wanted to know! its like Pulp Fictions Brief Case, you don't know whats in it but if you did it would lose its magic.

Wow. Don't know what kind of sex you boys are having, but... "Cloverfield" was much, much better than what I was expecting, and I really liked the way they dealt with Hud recording most ot the film (showing others recording things, etc.). But if this was suppose to be our "American Monster" movie... shouldn't we know what the hell it looks like by the end? Everybody knows what Godzilla looks like, but we never get a full view of this monster (did it have a tail or was that tenticlehitting the bridge?). What we did see looked very interesting, and I wanted more. Good acting and the hand held cam didn't get annoying. Full Price, at best though, because of what Abrams said he was going for.

This film was the best of the year, hands down. If you had to leave the cinema because of shaky cam, thats not the films fault, its coz its YOU get motion sickness. Tough luck. Stop being a little girl.

I am new to this so please, bear with me. I believe that with most movies you can find some redeeming factor with in any movie. Now with that being said...Blair Witch wasn't as crappy as this, let me explain. Blair Witch had I don't know 300,000 dollars for a budget, I'm sure that's not the right amount but lets just say it was for this bit. The movie looked like they put 100,000 dollars in to it and the rest went to there pockets right. Cloverfield SAME THING, only they had more money and some intentional hummer. Plus the Cloverfield actors more than likely went to there acting coaches...a time or two, and the whole movie was predictable. Rental at most.

that rating is fucking bullshit. when i saw that movie i had leave right away.... the stupid cameras made me get motion sickness. at best it deserves a matinee.

If you guys don't change your rating for this I'm afraid I'm gonna have to hold somebody hostage. BTS? Come on, it was a Matinee at best. Sure, it was fun to watch and everything, but it has nowhere near the material of BTS-grade movies. Come on, I'm begging you.
