for me, when it comes to comedies, i don't really care too much about how good the plot is, i just care if it can make me laugh. this movie got me enough laughs for my money's worth, but it's not good. i enjoyed it. though it's terribly directed. of course a comedy that is better written i like even more. this is an okay movie. definetly not good.

Ferrell is a very funny guy (ex: SNL and Talladega Nights). He was very talented in Stranger Than Fiction. But this formula I too think is getting too old. But hey, maybe Ferrell/McKay/Reilly's new movie STEP BROTHERS that looks really funny could make it up.

I don't know why everyone expects oscar winners from every movie. Movies are ment to be entertaining, and Will Ferrell movies are just that. Just like Adam Sandler or Ben Stiller, all similar movies down their filmography list, but they're entertaining! Although the ultimate entertainment would come from Steven Seagal, Van Damme and Chuck Norris all in the same movie hahaha

I'm with you Cyrus, i'm over these Ferrel-movies, they might as well just start making movies of him jacking off (not that i'd go see them, paid of downloaded....ahem) and just go with that cause all these movies centered around him have just been $hit, Talledega Nights, Cyrus, I do disagree I thought that movie was horrible, I'd heard bad things but I gave it a chance purely cause of Sacha Baron Cohen, and even he dissapointed me. This just looks like more of the same. Good call on the Andre 300/Co-Host connection too, Co-Host just needs to come out with an album equalling 'The Love Below' and the resemblance would be..even mroe uncanny!

Why would anyone expect something different out of this movie. I am sure this is a great movie if you like Will. What I would like to see is him bring a different side of comedy to the table like he kind of did when he was Mugatu. Instead of just being off the chain, he should have a focused character outside of who is normally is.

I agree with you on your comment that he is not hurting for money. But it does seem he just doesnt care and is just having fun making these kind of movies at OUR expense. He does seems to be letting his talent go. Like a dude going though midlife that doesnt work out and eats fast food everyday.
