Definetely one of the greatest comedies of the year, with out a doubt. Downey Jr steals it, with many superb cameos such as Tom Cruise and Mathew Maconahey The plot does wear paper thin during the middle sequences of the film and roles completely of target. But the A+ cast do help wheel it along with help by some fine directing. Tremendous dialouge and one ultimately oscar worthy performances, Tropic Thunder is a true hoot but doesn't have the real kick that it should have dilivered. so matinee

Hilarious. I loved this movie and plan on seeing it again. You really have to pay attention because some of the hollywood skewering jokes almost sneak by..and the jokes that are harder to spot are hilarious too. Like most Ben Stiller movies the only problem I had was..Ben Stiller. The man just can't act. he always plays the kinda sensitive wimpy character in pretty much all of his movies and, although he's tougher in here he hasn't changed much.

To be hones I think the only remotely interesting character in this whole thing was Cyrus, Downing was amazing, an actor playing an actor playing a black soldier...it hurt my brain to even think about it. Other then that character this was just another lame poke at Hollywood. Don't get me wrong I'm all for a good laugh at Hollywood's expense, but Stiller really under developed the other characters. I didn't like any of them hell I didn't really dislike them either, there was a few good laughs like the director being blown to bits didn't see that coming, but other then that...I don't know I would have been pissed to have paid full price, so I guess matinée or high rental.

Saw it. Liked it, despite my normally not being into rampant "shock value" humor. My only real beef here was Stiller. I'm sure that one day the man might actually make me crack a smile with his lame antics....but it'd probably only happen at gunpoint.

Whats sad is that the guy Cyrus imitates(the zippity do dah guy from song of the south) couldn't even go to the premier! No hotel would let him stay. Needless to say, The now exists(if at all) as a copy or 2 in the disney vaults.
